Mark's Graduation

My cousin Mark graduated from High School over Memorial Day weekend.  The main ceremony was on Friday night, but there was also a program on Friday morning.  Jamie, Rachel and I took off for Memphis about 8 pm on Thursday from Atlanta.  It is a bit of a drive, so we didn't arrive until about 1 am Central time.

I really love being with my extended family.  My aunts and uncles are so much fun to be around, my cousins are great and it is always fun to see my grandmother whenever we can.  We just laugh a lot and eat pretty frequently when we are together.

The school my cousins go to is a Classical Christian School and I've never really been around one before.  I went to a Christian private school, but it wasn't like this.  They have very different curriculum, study Latin, philosophy and rhetoric, and are very steeped in tradition.  Both the program and ceremony were very intentional and thought provoking.  Mark was one of two students who were the first to go to the school for 13 years (K to 12).  It was neat how they made special notice of this as well.

He is headed to University of Tennessee in the Fall and we are so excited for him.  His sister Amy will be starting her senior year this Fall as well, so we will be celebrating her graduation next May and can't wait!  I wish we got to see them all more often, but we are all excited about and looking forward to Rachel and Jesse's wedding in Atlanta in less than 2 months!

Sounds like a fun trip. We can definitely tell you and your cousin are related!
