Back to the movie though... we went to see it with a few friends on opening weekend, as I usually do with Pixar's movies. I was excited to see this movie as I mentioned in a previous post, because I wasn't really sure what it was going to be like. Pixar definitely did not disappoint me this time!
I absolutely loved this movie. The story was so unique and creative (some complained it was over the top, but it is a cartoon people!). Within in the first five minutes of the movie, there were maybe a few sentences spoken, but a beautiful sequence of scenes that had me in tears. I knew what was coming, but it was so well done that you couldn't help but be emotional about it. Karl, a man in his late 70s, decides to take the adventure of his lifetime that he promised his wife they would take. To accomplish this, he attaches thousands of balloons to his house and flies it to South America. To his surprise, Russell, a 10 year old Wilderness Scout, is his stowaway. Hilarity ensues as they interact, aggravate each other, and eventually enjoy each other's company, meeting some crazy animals along the way. The animation was fantastic, as they are moving through the rocks and jungles, it transports me there with them. The movie is filled with laughs, tears, and adventure, so much so that I was still thinking about it a few days later.
For me the film ranks up near the top of all 10 Pixar movies, though I have trouble actually ranking them, they are all so good! (Toy Story, Finding Nemo and the Incredibles rank up there too.) Some of my friends didn't enjoy it as much, but I'm glad they joined us to see it. If you haven't seen it yet, I'd recommend it and would love to know what you thought of it!

I loved it too! It was entertaining for kids and had some depth for adults. I think I was crying in the first 15 minutes :). It was cute and had a great message.
