Raleigh

Last weekend, Jamie and a friend had a conference in Raleigh and I decided to drive with them over there to see some of my college friends. We drove over on Saturday and I dropped the girls off in downtown Raleigh at the hotel.

I met up with my friends Chuck and Lauren for dinner at their house. I had not visited them since they moved to Raleigh a year ago from the Myrtle Beach area. Their kids are 5, 3 and 2 months old and they were so much fun to hang out with. It was great to meet their new baby for the first time and to hold him some. That will be us in a few short months! Chuck and I went to see Iron Man 2 that night and enjoyed catching up a little. I went to church with them Sunday morning and after lunch headed over to Durham, about 30 minutes away, to visit my other friends Nathan and Ashley. We enjoyed catching up and playing with their girls who are 5 and 2. They enjoyed showing me around the house and the incredible play area that Nathan built for them outside. Ashley is due with their third child any day now, it was fun to see her nine months pregnant, but I know they are all ready for the new little girl to arrive! I was only able to hang out with them for a few hours, but it was great to catch up. I usually get to see the guys at least once a year, but often I do not get to visit their wives and kids. I just wish Jamie could have been with me to get to know them better. Maybe next time when we have our little girl with us!

I picked up Jamie and her friend from the conference and we headed over to Winston-Salem for the evening to spend the night with Rachel and Jesse. We had fun eating dinner out and talked for a while. The three of us headed out first thing Monday morning to get back to Atlanta. It was a short, whirlwind trip, but I'm really glad I was able to go and catch up with so many friends!
